This colorful coin made of sterling silver with a rough diamond at it’s center is inspired by the impressive story of Horatio Chapple. He was a young man who dreamt of becoming a doctor and spent his vacations volunteering at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Center in Salisbury.
While working there as a volunteer, he observed that there was no outdoor area for patients with spinal injuries to stay with their loved ones. So, he came up with the idea to create a garden. Sadly, that summer, on an adventure to Svalbard, Horatio’s life was tragically cut short at the age of 17 when a polar bear attacked his tent.
People were inspired by his life story, so with the help of donations, Horatio’s Garden was born.
The backside of the coin is inspired by a sign located in the garden that celebrates Horatio’s kindness and courage. Through the variety of colors, the front side of the coin reminds us that life is colorful and can be full of joy just like a garden full of flowers. The organic, unpolished diamante from the center symbolizes strength. No matter how hard some experiences we go through in life are, we must remember that we are strong.
The coin comes with a satellite chain in two sizes: 16″+2″ and 20+2″.
About Horatio’s Garden Collection
The fragility of the flower petals, the uninterrupted activity of bees, and the special coloring of plants and bugs inspired us to create this wonderful collection, which is about finding inner peace, serenity, and hope. We can’t control what life has to offer, but we can definitely control how we respond in a given situation.
25% (excl VAT) of the value of each product from this collection will be donated to support Horatio’s Garden Charity in its mission to heal people affected by spinal injury. Thank you for your contribution!
Smile and celebrate life!
